Why couples are getting married here
Hollywood Distillery is a 5,000-square-foot 1920s warehouse on Santa Monica Boulevard with a working copper still, factory-glass windows along the north wall, and 30-foot wood-trussed ceilings strung with Edison-bulb cafe lighting. The building — originally a 1920s mortuary — has the bones a wedding planner would design from scratch if they could. Most couples who book here say they were looking for something that didn't feel like another LA hotel ballroom.
The still photographs unbelievably well. Couples ask to be portraited with it almost without exception. The factory windows at golden hour. The barrelhouse at twilight. Hollywood Forever Cemetery is across the street — yes, really — and is one of the most beautiful walks in Los Angeles for first-look photography.
What works here
- Full ceremony + reception buyout. 24-hour rental. Ceremony in the still room, cocktail hour at the bar, dinner and dancing in the tasting room. Up to 200 guests standing, 90 seated. Most full-buyout weddings.
- Reception-only. If your ceremony is somewhere else — a church, the Roosevelt, the courthouse — we host the reception. Up to 200 standing, 90 seated.
- Welcome cocktail party. The night before, for out-of-town guests. 60 standing, in the bar.
- Rehearsal dinner. Up to 60 seated, intimate, often with a private distillery tour as the icebreaker. More on rehearsal dinners here.
The bar program
Beverage service is exclusively ours — we make the spirits, so we pour them. Hosted bar from $45 per guest for two hours; premium open bar from $65 per guest for three hours. Custom cocktail menus designed with our bar team are part of every wedding inquiry: tell us a story (where you met, your grandmother's old fashioned, the cocktail you both drank on your third date) and we'll build a four-cocktail menu around it.
Catering and the rest
Catering is open. We work with a short preferred list (Heirloom LA, Truly Yours, Joan's on Third) and we coordinate every step — or you can bring your own kitchen-licensed caterer with proof of insurance. Florals, planning, lighting, DJ, valet — all open. We work with most of the LA wedding industry and we'll recommend trusted vendors when asked.
Saturdays in spring, summer, and December book four to six months out. Weekday and off-season weddings are usually available with four to eight weeks of notice. Send the inquiry form below — our events team responds within one business day with availability and a custom proposal.
