Why crews shoot here
Hollywood Distillery is a 5,000-square-foot 1920s warehouse with the kind of bones LA location scouts spend years looking for: 30-foot wood-trussed ceilings, factory-glass windows along the north wall providing natural daylight all day, a 1,000-gallon copper Vendome pot still rising twenty feet into the rafters, and a refurbished tasting room with long communal tables and a working bar. The building was originally a 1920s mortuary; it has period character without being precious.
We rent the venue out for editorial, commercial, and indie shoots Tuesdays through Fridays during the day (the distillery is closed to the public those days). Weekend shoots are possible by special arrangement.
The look
- The still room. Polished copper still as the centerpiece. Factory-glass windows make for dramatic golden-hour shots; daylight is shadowless and cool earlier in the day.
- The tasting room. Long communal tables, retail wall lined with bottles, a fully stocked bar in the corner. Period-deco character without theme-park kitsch.
- The bar. Built-in, fully stocked, can be styled out as a bar or anything else.
- The exterior. Factory-glass windows and the gold HD circle above the door read on camera. Hollywood Forever Cemetery is across the street for adjacent locations.
