A distillery tour is more casual than a winery and more interesting than a brewery, but the production floor has practical requirements. Here's how to dress for a tour at Hollywood Distillery (or any working distillery, really).
What's required
- Closed-toe shoes. The production floor is a working space. Open-toed shoes (sandals, flip-flops, mules) aren't allowed past the tasting room.
- Government-issued ID if you're 21+ and want the tasting flight. Driver's license, passport, or state ID. Even if you look 35.
What's recommended
- Comfortable shoes. You'll be walking on polished concrete for an hour. Closed-toe sneakers, loafers, ankle boots all work.
- Layers. The production floor can warm up if a distillation run is happening. The tasting room is air-conditioned. A light layer that can come off helps.
- Pants or longer skirts. The production floor occasionally has minor splash zones near the still. Nothing serious, but you'll feel more comfortable not worried about your outfit.
What to avoid
- Open-toed shoes (required not allowed)
- Strong perfume or cologne. The tasting flight relies on your nose; perfume interferes with the tasting experience for everyone in the group.
- Loose or floppy hats indoors — the still room ceilings are high but lighting fixtures hang.
A vibe check
Most guests dress in casual-to-smart-casual range. Jeans and a nice shirt is fine. Athleisure is fine. There's no dress code beyond "closed-toe shoes" — we're a working distillery, not a country club. If you'd be comfortable at a brewery or a casual restaurant, you're correctly dressed for us.
Thursday through Sunday. $30 per guest.
~60 minutes. Tasting flight included. All ages welcome.
