Private & Group Distillery Tours in Hollywood

If you're trying to book a private or group distillery tour in Hollywood — for a corporate offsite, a wedding party, a film crew wrap, a milestone birthday — you're in the right place. Hollywood Distillery runs private tours seven days a week for groups of ten to two hundred, in a 5,000-square-foot 1920s warehouse with the working copper still as backdrop. This page covers what a private tour looks like, who they're for, and how to book one.

Public tours run Thursday through Sunday and are capped at twelve guests. Private tours, by contrast, are buyouts — your group gets the room, the still, the tasting flight, and the bar to itself. The minimum booking is ten guests; the practical maximum is around two hundred standing or ninety seated. Pricing scales with group size, day of week, and any custom add-ons.

Why book a private distillery tour

The public tour is good for two or six people. The private tour is what you book when the group is bigger than that, or when you want the experience tailored. The most common reasons groups go private:

  • Group size. Public tours cap at twelve. Anything over that needs a private slot.
  • Day of week. Public tours run Thursday through Sunday. Private groups can book Tuesday through Sunday.
  • Customization. Custom cocktail menus tied to the occasion, branded labels for the welcome bottle, a guided tasting that goes deeper than the public flight.
  • Privacy. No other guests in the room — useful for film/TV scouts, brand launches, and certain professional groups.

What's included in a private tour

Every private tour includes the same core: a 60–90 minute production tour led by one of our distillers, the four-spirit tasting flight (Oasis Vodka, Nopalera Gin, Zanja-Madre Bourbon, Zanja-Madre Rye) in proper tasting glasses, and exclusive use of the production floor and tasting room for the duration. Most groups add at least one of these:

  • Custom cocktails on draft. A pre-built two- or three-cocktail menu poured from our taps, scaled to the group.
  • A bartender-led cocktail class. Hands-on, one bar tool per pair, three cocktails built and tasted.
  • Branded bottles. Custom labels on a bottle of Oasis Vodka or Zanja-Madre Bourbon for each guest to take home — six-week lead time.
  • Catering. We work with three preferred caterers covering everything from passed bites to plated dinners.

Groups who book private

The mix is wider than you'd expect:

  • Corporate offsites and team-builds. Studios, agencies, production companies. The cocktail class is the most-requested format here — it's the rare team activity where nobody is bored.
  • Wedding-adjacent events. Rehearsal dinners, welcome parties for out-of-town guests, bachelor and bachelorette parties.
  • Milestone birthdays. 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s. We've done a 75th. Custom cocktail named after the birthday person is the standard move.
  • Film and TV crew events. Wrap parties, premiere afterparties, launch dinners. The 1920s warehouse aesthetic photographs well — and it's literally adjacent to Hollywood Forever Cemetery, which has shown up in more than a few production schedules.
  • Brand launches. Product unveils, press dinners, influencer activations. The full venue can hold 200 standing.

How pricing works

Private tour pricing depends on three variables: group size, day of week, and add-ons. As a rough guide:

  • Small private tour (10–20 guests, weekday): roughly the cost of a private dinner at a mid-tier restaurant, with the tasting flight included.
  • Large private tour with cocktail menu (40–90 guests, evening, custom cocktails on draft): a fully-loaded experience that scales economically with group size.
  • Full venue buyout (90+ guests, full tasting room and production floor, custom catering): priced as a venue rental plus per-head bar package.

We send a custom quote within one business day of the inquiry form. No standardized package pricing — every group is different.
